The band's debut CD "Glorybound Soul" contains a
mix of raw guitar rock. Each track has it's own flavor,
with the improvisation of "Soundcheck", the hard-hitting blues/rock
of "Hard Life", the funky rock of "Saved By Grace"
and the polished epic "Zion", and also includes excursions
into other areas such as the 15 minute jam "Lord Knows I Ain't No Angel"
and the atmospheric emo-feel of "Dreaming".

Some past comments from various music reviews:

"Their sound is hard driving, rock guitars with a heavy dose of the blues. A variety of influences such as Stevie Ray Vaughn and Phil Keaggy find their way into Riddle's songs. Steve writes faith filled lyrics layered over high-octane instrumentation." - Kweevak

"Riddle sings about the toughness of life but reminds us there is always hope in the Lord, a prevailing theme throughout this feisty collection. 'Narrow Road' starts off with a slower, blues riff as the pace slightly picks up on Steve's soulful vocals accented by keys played by Damon Lewis. The track has a rich, reflective tone and quality jams in its midst. Glorybound Soul, with its clean production fused with passionate playing, is a winner!" - Kweevak

"You ready for some jammin', rippin' blues guitar?  From the feedback CD intro--when lead guitarist Steve Riddle is just warming up--to the last note squeezed out on "Tender Mercy," he plays with all he's got--and his band has no problem keeping up. Stevie Ray, B.B. King, Darrell Mansfield, Larry Howard, and Glenn Kaiser are all worn proudly on Riddle's sleeve. Hot, hot, hot." - Phantom Tollbooth

"The songs are all filled with emotion and positive lyrics. Songs like "Saved By Grace", "Set Apart", "Do You Know My Daddy" and "Last Train" are great if you love music with that rock touch to it. Judy and I love the bluesy feel of “Narrow Road” and “Lord Knows I Ain’t No Angel”. “Zion” is an awesome instrumental track that really is a pleasure to listen to." - PCM

"deeply devout lyrics backed up by an amped-up, screaming guitar that calls to mind Jimi Hendrix." - What's Up Magazine
Review

" Overall the album is very good. The style of music is one not usually heard by these reviewers. We were actually surprised at how it intrigued us track after track. It's got rock, it's got hard rock and it’s got the blues." - PCM

After hearing the unmistakable and delightful sounds of amplifier hum and single coil buzz scattered throughout, I knew I was going to enjoy "Glorybound Soul", the debut release from the California based Steve Riddle Band. Riddle and company are somewhat unique in their approach to music, as they have managed to merge what is now recognized as traditional SRV/Hendrix/Trower type musical influences with straight forward, positive Christian lyrics." - Bluesrockers Review

"Riddle is a triple-threat performer..with a fiery intensity and virtuosity". - What's Up Magazine Review

"There is lots of good material here, all worth your listening time. While my personal favorites are the more blues based scorchers like "Same Old You" there are plenty of style options present. The CD also showcases as its most ambitious effort, a 10 plus minute classic rock instrumental "Zion" which in and of itself displays a lot of this bands versatility and diversity." - Bluesrockers Review

"In a fiery program of blues/rock originals, the Steve Riddle Band takes the bull by the horns with a hard, rocking attack that tells it the way it is." - Southland Blues magazine Review

"As the album's title reflects, Riddle's concept focuses on spiritual feelings and religion. He does so with a hard rock attack that proclaims his thoughts on the subject loudly and confidently. His spiritual message drives this band with a powerful force." - Southland Blues magazine Review

"His raw guitar rocks the joint, as Riddle sings and shouts his spiritual message in a contemporary atmosphere that rocks hard." - Southland Blues magazine Review

"Classic hard-driving rock and roll." - What's Up Magazine Review
